Hi,

I'm just wondering what sort of LEDs are used in the cars and trucks. Also, where would I be able to get some?

James

Hi James,

We use SMD-LEDs (bright white to simulate xenon-lamps, golden white to simulate "normal" headlights). They're available in all well stocked electronic stores like Radio Shack, Conrad electronic, etc. Just ask for the smallest size SMD-Leds and you will be fine. Oh, to solder them, you'll need a solder-needle which has a finer tip than an ordinary solder iron. Magnifying glasses would also come in handy :D .

Regards,
Erhard

... and instead of holding them in your hand, while soldering the SMDs, just use some tape taped up-side-down on a table...
