Just to say Hello to all!

My name is Dimitris born March 12 1967 and I live in Piraeus Greece (the main port).
Railway modelling is the (indoor) hobby I enjoy the most and I focus on German landscape and rolling stock.
I visited Miniature Wunderland in March 2005 (No Alps or water then...)and I hope to come back soon as this is the reference point of our hobby!

For the last 8 years I am constructing a layout in DCC HO :the so called "Project Neustadt"

http://www.flickr.com/photos/my_layout_jimmyk/ .

Everything ( from metal work, wooden work, electronics and the layout itself done by the undersigned.)

I am really glad of being part of this forum,

Greetings from Greece,

Jimmy.k

Good evening to all!

After almost nine months of work ... (including the turntable) ,the industry module of the Neustadt project , is now presentable and ready to be installed.

Two minor parts missing : a.some photo etched hand rails for the chimney (under way) and b.The (computer driven) device that will enable lights to light randomly.

During construction I had to overcome some issues i.e a big part of the industry was scratch built, led flashers and smoke generators were istalled, as well as motors for the mine and the Brawa overhead system and last but not least I placed two small louspeakers that reproduce pre-recorded industrial sounds!

Good day to all and happy new decade.

New "sub-project" of the Neustadt diorama is a tram and city (L shaped)module that will bond together the foreground and the background of the layout.

This one is the first out of three, is the smallest (dimension-wise) and is 90% complete.Due to its reduced width,I had to use low relief buildings.

More details for the construction etc. can be found on my Flick r photostream.

Finally some photos of the non-finished layout (with industrial zone in place).

Hi everyone!

Some time since our last communication, I would like to present the second of three modules with code name:  "city scenes".
These form a (L) and consist of a low relief diorama (presented first) and two other ,measuring 480 × 25 cm.
The presented module will be installed directly opposite the industrial zone.

The station building is almost ready.Only interior lighting, sound effects and details are missing.
However the constuction timetable for this specific part of the layout is mid June 2010!

Thanks for looking, thanks for commenting!

Greetings from Greece!

Dimitris.
