Love your layout, can't wait to visit it next year. How do you keep all that detailed scenery clean and free from dust?
Best Regards,

OK. Let me rephrase the question....
How do you remove dust from all the thousands of items that cannot be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner (because it would destroy them) eg: trees, bushes, shrubs, flowers, miniature people etc

Again, use a vacuum... and be veeery careful.
If you want to be extra cautious, use a fine net over the vacuum's hose (like old nylons) and you can be sure that nothing gets sucked up. Goes without question that all accessories have to be glued down...

I have seen how you clean the track with a track rubber and vacuum cleaner, but how do you clean the track inside the tunnels?

I have heard it said that cleaning the track with the track rubbers will wear it out. Have you had to replace any track on Miniatur Wunderland because of this since the opening in 2001?

In order to keep the train in running condition, you need to clean the rails frequently with track cleaning block. The other way to remove the oxidation is to keep running your cars over the tracks. The zinc-coated steel also has some disadvantages. When the zinc coating wears away (as it eventually will), it leaves the steel exposed. You can see the problem right away: steel rusts. _______________________ Each individual has compelling reasons to love model railroading.
