How about placing mini-cameras in front of locomotives or on the sides of passenger compartments, and have people watch that video feed, so to create an inside/track-level kind of experience.

You can go even further, build special compartments, where visitors sit, wear headphones maybe, and watch videos of either a view from the side of a passenger car, or an engineer driving the train, for one 24 hour cycle of the exhibition. (You can charge people money for that too). This will provide visitors with more inside-exhibition experience, they will feel part of the set up and visit all the countries, attractions, etc. set up in the desks.

have you tried this: Videos taken by the "engineers".

Only thing missing: Charge visitors for entering a virtual engine (connected to a real model-engine with camera) and drive it through the Wunderland as they please.
