Just curious really, I assume a command is issued and all cars / trains retire to special areas / charge stations or does everything just stop in it's tracks until the next day. Do you kill all the power?

WOuld make an interesting video I think!

G´day Olly,
every morning the whole system is new started. It´s funny to come early to the Wunderland and see the layout with no trains and cars running.
At some nights the layout is not shut down, because some guys have to clean the layout, or some photograph is taking new pics.

See yaa

Ah ok thanks. It's not like on the film toy story then.. :)

Also do you have to switch on carefully to prevent a power surge?

Ok, but do all the trains, cars and ships just stop where they are when the power is turned off? Or is there some kind of a command that tells everything to go to some staging areas? How long does it take for the entire layout to start moving again? I would also love to see the video of how it happens.

Every train and vehicle has its clearly defined home position where it is parked overnight.
This way, the layout has a defined state the next morning, and firing it up takes only about 5 minutes. 100% running capacity is achieved after 10 minutes. Shut down depends on the position and speed of the slowest train. In the worst case, it may take up to 3/4 of an hour to shut the layout down.
