Well, the kanton Graubünden/Grisons has on Sept. 13th decided not to invest more funds in the Porta Alpina station project, according to the Visiun Porta Alpina web site. The Porta Alpina passenger station will not be built - of course the technical Multifunktionsstelle will be constructed.

So for this generation we shall not experience a tunnel station with 35 degrees celsius below Sedrun in the middle of the new Gotthard tunnel.

Not only is the Miniaturwunderland in Hamburg unique, the Porta Alpina station will be unique and only be found in Hamburg about 900 kms north of Sedrun.

PS. This explains why there was not one word about Porta Alpina in the 125 Gotthard jubilee exhibitions in Switzerland last weekend.
